Schedule Announced, Group Tickets on Sale for Women's World Championship

SPARKS, Md. — World Lacrosse has announced the schedule for the 2022 World Lacrosse Women's Championship, which will be held from June 29 through July 9 at Towson (Md.) University, and the opening game on June 29 will feature a rematch of the 2017 gold medal game between the United States and Canada.

Group tickets for the event are now available for groups of at least 10 individuals for just $13 per ticket, per day. Additionally, full-event passes, including access to the opening ceremony, closing ceremony, more than 110 games and all of the pageantry of the world championship, remain available for sale for $130. Single day tickets for individuals will go on sale on April 20.

The World Lacrosse Women’s Championship, originally scheduled for 2021 before being postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, will feature a record 30 nations competing during the 11-day event which is being held in the United States for the first time since 2005. Teams from six continents will be competing, including Uganda becoming the first team to represent Africa in the senior women’s world championship.

The United States is the reigning world champion in women’s lacrosse, having defeated Canada in the 2017 final in Guildford, England. This year’s U.S. roster features returning All-World selections Taylor Cummings, Meg Douty and Kayla Treanor along with 2021 Tewaaraton winner and NCAA champion Charlotte North. International stars include 2008 and 2009 Tewaaraton winner Hannah Nielsen (Australia), three-time All-World honoree Dana Dobbie (Canada) and All-World midfielder Laura Merrifield (England). 

Following its opening game against Canada on June 29, the United States will play Scotland (July 1), Australia (July 2) and then conclude pool play against England on July 4. The first round of the championship bracket begins on July 5, followed by the quarterfinals on July 6, the semifinals on July 7 and the medal round games on July 9. The U.S. National Team trains and plays using best-in-class products from Nike Lacrosse (apparel and footwear), Game On Mouthguards and DJO (sports bracing) and best-in-class equipment from Gait, Maverik, Cascade Lacrosse and STX.

In addition to these partners, Hudl, MedStar Health, National Center for Safety Initiatives and Stryker are official sponsors of the U.S. national team program. Team training is also aided by products from Athletic Republic.
