Scott Marr to Appear on Season 4, Ep. 11 of the 'Overtime' Podcast

Scott Marr took over the Albany men’s lacrosse program 20 years ago and has spent his time building one of the most identifiable cultures in all of college lacrosse.

Marr, a Yorktown, N.Y., native, has his Albany team playing loose and creatively — a formula that worked to perfection with stars like Lyle and Mile Thompson and Connor Fields. He’s the textbook definition of a players’ coach.

He got his start in coaching with the legendary Bob Shillinglaw at Delaware and served under another legend in Dick Edell at Maryland. He’s using those experiences to help build Albany into an annual NCAA tournament contender.

Marr, who sits in the thick of the America East title race, sat down with Paul Carcaterra on Season 4, Episode 11 of the “Overtime” podcast to talk about his coaching timeline, how he built Albany into a nationally recognized program and what it was like to coach the Thompson brothers.

You can listen to the interview with Marr when it drops on Wednesday morning on Apple, Spotify or wherever you get your podcasts.
