Good morning. Here's the latest from the lacrosse world:

1. Tom Kennedy, Jared Bernhardt and Pat Spencer watch.

College coaches often encourage young players to excel in multiple sports. As you likely know, Tom Kennedy, Pat Spencer and former Tewaaraton winner and Maryland star Jared Bernhardt took that to heart long after their college playing days were over. Former Boston Cannons draft pick and Bryant midfielder Tom Kennedy started at wide receiver for the Detroit Lions on Sunday.

Bernhardt was inactive in week four after three straight weeks on the Atlanta Falcons’ roster

Meanwhile, in Tokyo, Pat Spencer got into his first preseason game with the defending NBA champion Warriors. Kenny DeJohn has more on how Kennedy and Spencer fared.

2. Rutgers welcomes a whole new crop of transfers  — again.

The Scarlet Knights advanced to the Final Four for the first time in program history on the backs of several transfers. One of them was goalie Colin Kirst — and it’s likely another transfer will replace him in the cage. Matt Hamilton caught up with Brian Brecht about the goalie battle, midfield options and momentum heading into 2023.

3. Meet USA Lacrosse’s new board chair.

Lacrosse runs in Andrew Lee’s blood. Lee, who is half Seneca, says he has always felt a connection to the sport. He discussed his love of the game and role as the new board chair of USA Lacrosse, an organization he previously volunteered for, with Brian Logue.

4. Fall Classic is just around the corner.

Don’t miss champs vs. champs, as the U.S. men’s and women’s national teams go toe-to-toe with the defending national champions at USA Lacrosse HQ in Sparks, Md., from October 14-16. Get your tickets here.
