Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1.  A three-day stretch of marquee matchups on national television helped shape a clearer picture of the pecking order in women’s lacrosse. North Carolina, which routed Duke on Thursday night, is the clear No. 1. Boston College, which bounced back from a loss to Duke by beating Syracuse in a Friday night NCAA title rematch, is a challenger to repeat. Maryland, the 2019 NCAA champ, controlled Northwestern on Saturday to show that it is back to its usual self.

2. When’s the last time we sat at the end of April with such an obvious NCAA title favorite? No. 1 Maryland blitzed rival Johns Hopkins 22-7 in men’s lacrosse on Saturday night, the most lopsided loss in JHU history. Can anyone stop the Terps?

3. It you like chaos, you’ll love Ivy League men’s lacrosse. Following upset wins by Brown and Harvard, there’s now a five-way tie for first place atop the Ivy League between Brown, Cornell, Harvard, Princeton and Yale and only the top four make the league’s postseason tournament.

4. The top two boys’ high school teams in the country battled on Friday and St. Johns (D.C.) made its claim for the top spot with an 11-5 win over St. Anthony’s (N.Y.). Mount Sinai and star Joey Spallina also beat Garden City at the event.

5. Hall of Fame coach and lacrosse icon Richie Moran died on Sunday. Moran led the Big Red to three national championships in the 1970s, coached the U.S. team to a silver medal in 1978 and started Ireland’s program.

Sing second is a time-honored tradition in the Army-Navy game. The Army women and the Navy men got to experience that thrill on Saturday.
