Gabby Fornia had a Sunday to remember.

The Vanderbilt senior scored three goals and added nine assists in a win over East Carolina, setting the program record and AAC record for assists in a single game. Her 12 points tied Vanderbilt’s single-game record and broke the AAC record.

On Friday against ECU, she scored two goals and one assist — a humble preview to the massive performance that was to come later that weekend.

For her big week, Fornia is the US Lacrosse Division I Women’s Player of the Week.

The nine assists in a single game are the most by a D-I women’s player this season. The 12 points tied Izzy Scane of Northwestern for the most in D-I game in 2021.
