Grace Arthur, a former varsity player at Boston College, is leading the Eagles' club squad in their 4-0 start.

Last May, the college club season concluded with Boston College Club celebrating its first WCLA Division I championship after defeating Georgia 12-7 in the title game, capping an undefeated 16-0 season. Naturally, BC finished the year at the top of the final ranking.

That same No. 1 spot still belongs to BC in the first 2023 WCLA Division I ranking, released today. The Eagles are off to a 4-0 start after capturing four top-10 victories at last week’s Golden State Invitational.

UCLA is ranked second after finishing 3-1 in the same tournament, losing only to BC, and grabbing impressive wins over Michigan and Virginia. BYU is third following an undefeated 4-0 showing at the Santa Barbara Shootout. Virginia Tech and Georgia are tied for fourth.

The first poll of the year includes six undefeated teams.

Key games on this week’s schedule include No. 11 Arizona State against No. 2 UCLA; No. 12 Utah against Colorado State; and No. 14 San Diego State against UCLA.

*Note: The first WCLA Division II ranking for the 2023 season will be released next week.
