Penn State attacker Steph Lazo had a career-high 12 points (five goals, seven assists) in the Nittany Lions' 20-9 season-opening victory over Albany.
Was Penn State’s first NCAA women’s lacrosse final four appearance since 1999 a fluke?
The Nittany Lions put that question to rest immediately, dominating Albany, a borderline Top 20 team, in the second half of a 20-9 victory Saturday.
Could Steph Lazo carry the load?
Penn State’s senior All-American attacker also had a resounding answer, notching a career-high 12 points (five goals, seven assists) in the blowout win to earn Epoch/US Lacrosse Player of the Week honors.
Lazo was efficient with her own chances, shooting 5-for-7, and factored in four of the five goals in the first 10 minutes of the second half that allowed the Nittany Lions to pull away after leading 7-6 at halftime.
