Navy attackman Dave Little broke a 74-year-old school record and set a new Patriot League men’s lacrosse mark with nine goals in the Midshipmen’s 14-9 victory over Lehigh, earning Epoch/US Lacrosse Player of the Week honors.
Little shot 9-for-9 in eclipsing the single-game Navy record for goals set by Robert Booze, who scored eight goals against Drexel on March 27, 1943. He also eclipsed Bucknell’s Todd Heritage for the conference record that stood since 2012.
“To score nine goals on nine shots is a remarkable accomplishment,” coach Rick Sowell said afterward. “He hasn’t been 100 percent healthy until this week, so it was nice to get him back on Tuesday and see him play so well today.”
