This season, USA Lacrosse will celebrate the accomplishments of players across Divisions I, II and III each Tuesday with Player of the Week recognition. Players of the Week are selected by USA Lacrosse Magazine staff and contributors based on a variety of factors, including individual performance and impact on team success.

DIVISION I

WILSON STEPHENSON, DUKE

There were huge offensive performances this week. Wilson Stephenson gets our Division I Player of the Week nod for preventing a star player from having one of those big weeks.

Stephenson, a graduate defenseman, matched up largely against Penn midfielder and USA Lacrosse Magazine Preseason Player of the Year Sam Handley over the weekend, limiting the 2022 Tewaaraton Award finalist to one goal (on eight shots) and two assists in a 14-12 Duke win.

Stephenson scored a goal himself in the win, but his biggest contributions obviously came on defense, where he contributed six ground balls and four caused turnovers.

DIVISION II

SHAWN DORAN, MERCYHURST

Mercyhurst dominated possession in a 15-8 win over Wilmington thanks to a 20-for-25 from faceoff specialist Shawn Doran. He added11 ground balls and one goal for good measure. So far this season, Doran has won just 38 of his 50 faceoffs and has two goals, one assist and 26 ground balls.

DIVISION III

JACK DUNLEAVY, GETTYSBURG

In a huge 12-10 upset win over Salisbury, Jack Dunleavy was a showstopper. The Gettysburg attackman had six goals, three of which were pivotal to the outcome. In the fourth quarter alone, he scored the tying goal, the winning goal and the goal that iced the win. He chipped in an assist for good measure and what involved in more than half of the goals scored by the Bullets.
