Conor Calderone went 32-for-34 with 21 ground balls against Lafayette.

It was a record-setting day across the board for Boston University.

And even though Vince D’Alto’s 14 points (seven goals, seven assists) were remarkable, and Boston’s program-record 21 goals were superb, none of it would have been possible without the play of Conor Calderone.

Calderone, a Maryland transfer, was electric, tying an NCAA single-game record by winning 32 faceoffs (out of 34 chances) in a 21-11 win over Lafayette. Calderone also recorded 21 ground balls, another program record. For his efforts, Calderone is the USA Lacrosse Magazine Division I Men’s Player of the Week.

Overall, Calderone is 128-for-208 (61.5 percent) on the season with 62 ground balls.
