Connor Theriault Named USA Lacrosse Magazine D-I Men's Player of the Week

Theriault made 24 saves in Brown's massive 13-8 win over Cornell in Ithaca.

Connor Theriault didn’t play in 2021 — like the rest of the Ivy League — due to COVID-19 restrictions. Then a freshman, the Mount Hermon, Mass., product had to wait just a little longer to leave his mark on Brown.

The sophomore has taken the Ivy League by storm in 2022. A conference featuring a five-way tie at the top has been made all the more interesting by Theriault and Brown’s performances. The latest masterclass in goalkeeping came last weekend when Theriault made 24 saves and allowed just eight goals in a 13-8 win over Cornell in Ithaca. For his effort, Theriault is the USA Lacrosse Magazine Division I Men’s Player of the Week.

Brown’s recent three-game winning streak includes a laundry list of Ivy League powerhouses, with victories against Penn, Yale and Cornell. Theriault has combined to make 52 saves in those games and has stopped 158 shots (54.9 percent) this season. Both his saves total and save percentage rank 15th nationally.
